Once in June 2019 (low battery), and once in May 2020 (issue troubleshooting). So far, I had only changed the battery twice. I tried changing the battery, but the issue persists. I would have to adjust the clock more often and by last month I would set it five minutes ahead, and by three days it would be the correct time, then three days later it was five minutes behind. I didn't care for it much since it would be out-of-sync a minute every week, but as it went on the lag occurred more often. So around 6 months ago, I'd noticed this clock began lagging by a minute and assumed it was due to indoor temperature fluctuations or strange battery. These disassemblies would take a day or two. I did remove the “horrid black glue” in places. I did want to take them further than most would in repair to show as many components as I could. "With the disassemblies I really tried to take the objects apart without destroying them. How many hours would you estimate that it took to completely annihilate that flip clock? Here’s a video of when I disassembled the first group of objects for the Things Come Apart series. As I was disassembling it, I would visualize how the photograph would take shape. It not only helped with my curiosity of what is inside but also a rudimentary understanding of how it works. The disassembly was a critical part to this art. Have people think a bit more about the stuff they toss on a regular basis. I wanted to show them in a new light and demonstrate the inner workings. I wanted to give them new life other than photographing them as is which are already naturally beautiful. I had acquired these objects from curb sides, thrift shops and hand me downs.

The displays typically come in two forms.
